Luke Holtzman put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Friday. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Avon is 3-1 when Holtzman allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
