Basketball Game Preview: Bullard Knights vs. Sunnyside Wildcats

The Bullard Knights will take on the Sunnyside Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Bullard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Bullard is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering San Joaquin Memorial just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Panthers 62-57. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Panthers are ranked 46th).

Sunnyside played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoover, sneaking past 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since December 20, 2024.

Bullard's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-10. As for Sunnyside, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Bullard didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sunnyside when the teams last played last Friday, but they still walked away with a 69-65 victory. Will Bullard repeat their success, or does Sunnyside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
