Madison County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jefferson County with a sharp 21-6 win. The Cowboys' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madison County got a massive performance out of Alden Richie, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Richie a new career-high. Micah Newman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Madison County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Trojans. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly ten runs.
Josh Agner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dalton Demott was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Shaw Lundy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Madison County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Aucilla Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Madison County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aucilla Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Madison County's way against Aucilla Christian when the teams last played back in March, as Madison County made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
