Softball Recap: Thornwell Comes Up Short

If Thornwell was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Calhoun Falls Charter last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thornwell Saints came up short against the Whitmire Wolverines on Tuesday, falling 21-3. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Thornwell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Nelson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Madi Porter was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Thornwell fell to 2-1. As for Whitmire, their record now sits at 7-1.

Coming up, Thornwell will square off against McCormick on Friday. As for Whitmire, they will take on Lewisville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Whitmire 2.6, Lewisville 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
