Football Game Preview: Aurora East Tomcats vs. West Aurora Blackhawks

Aurora East is 0-5 against West Aurora since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Tomcats will venture away from home to challenge the Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. Aurora East has given up an average of 36.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aurora East is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Fenton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tomcats were outmatched by the Bison and fell 33-6.

West Aurora played against Larkin on Friday and won via forfeit.

The win was the third in a row for West Aurora, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points over those games. As for Aurora East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Aurora East took a serious blow against West Aurora in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 47-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blackhawks' Mason Atkins, who threw for 195 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
