Volleyball Recap: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Falls Despite Big Games from Kinley Slatton and Shaylie Maye

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Sonoraville Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Shaylie Maye, who had ten digs, and Kinley Slatton, who had five digs and two assists.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's loss dropped their record down to 10-25. As for Sonoraville, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 25-16.

Coincidentally, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Sonoraville will both be playing North Murray the next time they take the court. The Phoenix will head out to face the Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
