Preview: Wilcox Central Jaguars vs. Central of Coosa County Cougars
The Wilcox Central Jaguars will be home for the holidays to greet the Central of Coosa County Cougars at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wilcox Central will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Selma scored an imposing 57 points last Tuesday, Wilcox Central still came out on top. Wilcox Central walked away with a 65-57 victory over Selma.
Central of Coosa County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season. They really took it to Fayetteville for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-28 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Central of Coosa County has managed all season.
Central of Coosa County's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Mitchell, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Mitchell posted two or more blocks. Majavius Culpepper was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Wilcox Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Central of Coosa County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
