Baseball Recap: Orono's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Orono came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-7 to the Stillwater Ponies. The loss was the Spartans' first of the season.

Orono got a good showing from Blake Martin, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ben Lang was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Ahrens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Orono fell to 3-1. As for Stillwater, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Orono will head out on the road to face off against Minnetonka at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Stillwater, they will square off against Forest Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
