Volleyball Game Preview: Dunlap Eagles vs. Galesburg Silver Streaks

Dunlap is a perfect 10-0 against Galesburg since August of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will host the Silver Streaks at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Dunlap's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Galesburg has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.

On Thursday, Dunlap earned a 2-0 win over East Peoria.

While Dunlap won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-11.

Caroline Holmes was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Tessa Arnott, who had nine kills and seven digs.

Meanwhile, Galesburg had just enough and edged out Yorkville Christian 2-1 on Saturday.

Dunlap's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Galesburg, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.

Dunlap was able to grind out a solid victory over Galesburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Silver Streaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
