Marquez extended their postseason success on Friday against Harbor Teacher. They never let the Monarchs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Darla Sanchez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Delilah Sanchez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Sophia Aguirre was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
