Baseball Recap: Arvin Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Arvin won the last time they faced Mira Monte and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bears walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Roy Rosales and Alex Nunez made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Rosales pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Nunez tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rosales got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Nunez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaime Pantoja, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Noe Perez was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Arvin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Arvin pushed their record up to 17-8-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Mira Monte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
