Garden Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Liberty Charter Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolverines have posted against the Patriots since August 30, 2017.
Garden Valley never let Liberty Charter on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 29-27.
Lacey Tucker paced Garden Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Tucker got some help from Holley Hove and her 28 assists. Hove and Tucker didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.
Coincidentally, Garden Valley and Liberty Charter will both be playing Compass Charter the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Aviators at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
