Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Jefferson County's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Wakulla Christian School Saints as the Jefferson County Tigers made off with a 71-47 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Xavier Miller went supernova for Jefferson County, putting up 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Hagan, who posted 14 points.

Wakulla Christian School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jackson Lawhon, who had 12 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lawhon a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Owen Vierday, who earned ten points.

Jefferson County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wakulla Christian School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Jefferson County will welcome Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakulla Christian School, they will host Altha at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
