Lyford won against Rio Hondo last Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Lyford's pitcher stepped up to hand the Santa Rosa Warriors an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riley Reyna made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since March 1st. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Diego Medina, who scored two runs. Another player making a difference was Josiah Palmer, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Lyford and bumps their season record up to 13-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Rosa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Lyford will welcome Progreso at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Rosa, they will venture away from home to challenge Rio Hondo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Hondo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Santa Rosa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
