Roosevelt and Stow-Munroe Falls are an even 2-2-2 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rough Riders will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Roosevelt turned things around against Firestone on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 6-2.
Owen Puhalla looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Brian Dugan was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Rocco Abercrombie also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Hudson typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Stow-Munroe Falls proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Explorers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 30, 2024.
Ben Bee tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has become a key player for Stow-Munroe Falls: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colin Callahan, who went 2-for-6 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Aiden Clark was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Stow-Munroe Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Stow-Munroe Falls' record is now 4-6. As for Roosevelt, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Roosevelt might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Stow-Munroe Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Rough Riders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
