Preview: Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers vs. Ferriday Trojans

The Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Ferriday Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Jonesboro-Hodge will be strutting in after a victory while Ferriday will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Jonesboro-Hodge was able to grind out a solid win over Winnfield, taking the game 30-20.

Meanwhile, Ferriday lost a heartbreaker to Rayville when they met back in September of 2021, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Ferriday lost to Rayville at home by a decisive 52-34 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ferriday in their matchups with Rayville: they've now lost three in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Chris Reed jr, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Reed jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Taevion Edwards also helped out as he racked up 134 rushing yards.

Even if they lost, Ferriday's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Rayville's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Reed jr and his two sacks.

Jonesboro-Hodge's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Ferriday, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6.

Jonesboro-Hodge and Ferriday were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2014, but Jonesboro-Hodge came up empty-handed after a 15-14 loss. Thankfully for Jonesboro-Hodge, Shannon Morales (who threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
