Volleyball Recap: Excelsior Springs Tigers vs. North Kansas City Hornets
Excelsior Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Kansas City Hornets. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Excelsior Springs started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 15-6.
Jordin Price paced Excelsior Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Price got some help from Lillah Shue and her 25 assists. Kendalyn Jones and Raelyn Kirtley kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Excelsior Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Coming up, Excelsior Springs is taking a road trip to take on Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Kansas City, they will be playing at home against St. Pius X at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
