Basketball Recap: Turner Takes a Loss

Turner played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-40 loss at the hands of The Colony Cougars. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Turner's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andy Barrett, who posted six points. Rocco Torres was another key player, putting up seven points.

Turner has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for The Colony, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turner will host Newman Smith at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Turner is facing Newman Smith at the right time seeing as Newman Smith is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for The Colony, they will challenge Wakeland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wakeland will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something The Colony surely won't give up without a fight.
