Basketball Recap: Alejandro Alava Key Part of a Team Effort in Hawks Win

It was a Battle of the Birds when Seminole Ridge challenged FAU High on Tuesday. The Seminole Ridge Hawks managed a 58-52 win over the FAU High Owls. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Owls back in November of 2024, they had to take a 73-54 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seminole Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alejandro Alava, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 18 points. Jonah Pio was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Seminole Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-17. As for FAU High, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Seminole Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 79-33 defeat against Boynton Beach on the 29th. As for FAU High, they will challenge Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. FAU High is facing Dreyfoos School of the Arts at the right time seeing as Dreyfoos School of the Arts is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
