Softball Game Preview: Knight Hawks vs. Lancaster Eagles

Knight is 2-8 against Lancaster since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Knight is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Knight lost 25-5 to Eastside on Tuesday.

Desiree Ahumada was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Izabelle Dominguez was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lancaster). They were the clear victors by a 23-12 margin over Antelope Valley on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Knight's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Lancaster, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Knight couldn't quite get it done against Lancaster in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 16-13. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
