Volleyball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Wins Going Away Against Emery

Contra Costa Christian barely beat Emery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Spartans 3-0 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Contra Costa Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-19.

Sean Cheung was the offensive standout of the game as he had 12 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave him a new career-high.

Contra Costa Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Emery, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

After both having extra time off, Contra Costa Christian and California School for the Deaf will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on the 8th. As for Emery, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Cornerstone Christian on the 27th.
