Softball Game Preview: Huron Chiefs vs. Airport Jets

The Huron Chiefs will take on the Airport Jets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Huron is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Huron's last matchup with Woodhaven could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Chiefs lost 18-2 to the Warriors. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Airport faced Allen Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Jets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Jaguars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jets.

Olivia Tilley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brenna Baker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Airport, their victory bumped their record up to 22-7.

Huron came out on top in a nail-biter against Airport in their previous matchup on May 7th, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
