Football Game Preview: Dougherty Trojans vs. Jefferson Dragons + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the Dougherty Trojans and the Jefferson Dragons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dougherty has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Jefferson will come in with five straight victories.

Dougherty is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bainbridge last Friday. The Trojans fell 28-21 to the Bearcats.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Jefferson and Oconee County, and Jefferson kept the tradition alive. The Dragons managed a 24-19 win over the Warriors last Friday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Warriors are ranked 142nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dougherty better keep an eye on Colton Grant. He was instrumental in Jefferson's win, rushing for 22 yards and two TDs.

Jefferson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Jefferson's record is now 9-1. As for Dougherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
