Football Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Hallsville Bobcats

The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will take on the Hallsville Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Pleasant will be strutting in after a win while Hallsville will be coming in after a defeat.

Mt. Pleasant is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They claimed a resounding 48-21 win over Nacogdoches. Considering the Tigers have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Hallsville managed to keep up with Marshall until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bobcats had to suffer through a 47-17 loss at the hands of the Mavericks. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Mavericks are ranked 136th).

Mt. Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Hallsville, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
