Baseball Recap: Ansonia Comes Up Short

Ansonia extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-County North Panthers. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Tri-County North, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

For Tri-County North's part, not much got past Gabe Heltsley, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Ansonia off the board.

On the hitting side, Tri-County North's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Powell, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansonia will square off against Houston at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-County North, they will face off against Northridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
