Baseball Game Preview: Triton Trojans vs. Wawasee Warriors

The Triton Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Wawasee Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wawasee took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Triton, who comes in off a win.

Triton played against Argos on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Wawasee is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Northridge.

Ryan Mack spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Wawasee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finley Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Triton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wawasee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Triton suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Wawasee in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
