Basketball Recap: Simmons Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Simmons can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 56-55 to the Thrasher Rebels. The loss put an end to the Blue Devils' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Simmons lost, don't look at Akiah Prince. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Prince has posted since back in November of 2023.

Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 28-1. As for Thrasher, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-5 record this season.

Simmons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thrasher, they will square off against Biggersville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Biggersville sitting on six straight victories and Thrasher on four.
