Basketball Game Preview: Celina Bulldogs vs. Memorial Roughriders

Celina hasn't had much luck against Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Roughriders at 6:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Celina is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Parkway on Monday. The Bulldogs took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against Bath on Thursday and fell 43-33. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Wildcats are ranked 21st).

Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Celina, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Celina beat Memorial 46-39 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Roughriders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
