Basketball Recap: Baldwin Park Starts Season with Win Against New West Charter

Baldwin Park took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the New West Charter Eagles by a score of 45-34.

Eric Avila had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Andy Flores was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Coming up, Baldwin Park will square off against Southlands Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for New West Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Animo Venice at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
