Basketball Recap: Tri-Point Chargers vs. Donovan Wildcats
Tri-Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Donovan Wildcats, falling 72-34. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-48 back in January.
Carter Ponton had an outrageously good game for Donovan as he went 6 of 13 to rack up 14 points along with eight steals and five assists. Donovan is undefeated when Ponton posts five or more steals, but 2-17 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braden Klecan, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Tri-Point's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Donovan, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
Looking ahead, Tri-Point will host Cissna Park at 3:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Donovan, they will head out on the road to take on South Newton at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
