Recap: Holy Family Tigers vs. Lewis-Palmer Rangers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Holy Family Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Rangers as they made off with a 42-17 victory. The win was nothing new for Holy Family as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Holy Family had a senior duo take command as Dominic Gabriel rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns and Rylan Cooney threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Monte Samaras, who picked up 47 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Lewis-Palmer still got an impressive performance from Jayden Pagano, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Holy Family's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Lewis-Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Holy Family will play host again and welcome Thompson Valley, where kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Thompson Valley: 14.5, Holy Family: 15.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Lewis-Palmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
