Baseball Game Preview: Maryvale Flyers vs. Iroquois Redhawks

For the second straight game, Maryvale will face off against Iroquois. The Flyers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Redhawks at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Maryvale needed a bit of extra time to put away Iroquois. They had just enough and edged out the Redhawks 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Flyers have posted since April 18th.

For Iroquois' part, Gavin Dundon and Adam Radka did some serious damage despite the final result: Dundon got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Radka went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Nolan Yax, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Maryvale's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Iroquois, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
