Preview: Roosevelt Mustangs vs. Keene Chargers
The Roosevelt Mustangs's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Keene Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Roosevelt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1467th, while Keene is ranked 703rd).
Last Tuesday, Roosevelt was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 32-31 to Castleberry. Roosevelt has struggled against Castleberry recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Keene waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Frost 33-31.
Roosevelt bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Keene, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Roosevelt might still be hurting after the 42-22 loss they got from Keene in their previous meeting on Saturday. Can Roosevelt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
