Basketball Recap: Manila Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Manila proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 34) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tabiona Tigers 52-49. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Tigers last Friday, they had to take a 62-50 loss.

Manila got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kallie Bair out in front who went 7 of 12 en route to 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruthanna Wilson, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaidence Pippy, who had eight points and 13 boards. Pippy has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maycee Rhoades, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Manila is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Tabiona, they moved to 15-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Manila has already played their next contest (against Rich), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tabiona has already played their next game, a 48-27 win against Altamont on the 4th.
