Basketball Recap: Riverdale Christian Takes a Loss

If Riverdale Christian was feeling good fresh off their 56-32 takedown of Alpaugh last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Riverdale Christian Ambassadors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 47-46 to the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ambassadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-43 back in January.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Almaraz led the charge by putting up 18 points and six steals. Juan Negrete was another key player, posting 12 points and seven steals.

Riverdale Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

The future could be bright for both Riverdale Christian and Wonderful College Prep Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Riverdale Christian will try to hand Alpaugh their 18th-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, the Lions will look to extend the Wolves' six-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
