Basketball Recap: Zyon Ratchford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gaffney over Boiling Springs

Gaffney came into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Boiling Springs Bulldogs by a score of 61-59 on Friday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gaffney lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zyon Ratchford, who en route to 17 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Londin Bailey, who on his way to 13 points.

Boiling Springs found their leader in sophomore Tyvion Hall, who to rack up 14 points and six boards. Hall also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 50%. Reese Walter was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Gaffney's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Boiling Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Gaffney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boiling Springs, they have already played their next game, a 68-60 loss against J.L. Mann on the 17th.
