Softball Recap: West Lincoln Comes Up Short

West Lincoln fell victim to Loyd Star and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 last Tuesday.

West Lincoln's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Loyd Star, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lincoln will challenge Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on the 11th. As for Loyd Star, they will take on Lawrence County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
