Baseball Game Preview: Coram Deo Academy Lions vs. Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm

Coram Deo Academy hasn't had much luck against Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Coram Deo Academy Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Coram Deo Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Harvest Christian Academy.

Sebastian Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ford Stratton was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Lucas Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Coram Deo Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes had to kick off their season on the road two weeks ago, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over Bishop Dunne.

Coram Deo Academy suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Coram Deo Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
