Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Dresden couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 41-21 to the Fayetteville Tigers on Friday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Bruce Willis threw for 72 yards on five of 18 attempts. Jacoby Sutton was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Luke Di Pietro rushed for 63 yards.

Nyles Barnett was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 189 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Fayetteville's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 3-5 otherwise.

Dresden's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Fayetteville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Dresden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fayetteville, they will take on Middle College on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
