Fike and Hunt are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Demons will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Fike hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Fike and East Wake had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Demons lost 12-1 to the Warriors on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hunt had just enough and edged out South Johnston 5-4 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Stone Massey looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Barnes Willoughby, who went 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Glover, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI.

Hunt's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fike, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fike has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hunt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
