Football Game Preview: Weaver Bearcats vs. Pennington Tigers + Official Tickets

The Weaver Bearcats will head out on the road to square off against the Pennington Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weaver has given up an average of 43 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weaver managed to slip by Westbrook Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bearcats were dealt a 63-20 loss at the hands of the Warriors on Friday. The Bearcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-20.

Meanwhile, Pennington played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Westbrook Christian and fell 34-7. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Warriors are ranked 87th).

Weaver has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Pennington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Weaver against Pennington in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 54-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
