Basketball Game Preview: Minneapolis Lions vs. Otis-Bison Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Minneapolis Lions duke it out with the Otis-Bison Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Minneapolis came up short against Beloit and fell 50-38. The Lions have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Otis-Bison played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Victoria, falling 60-35. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Minneapolis will have to contain Jake Hoopingarner as he made an impact in Otis-Bison's last game. He posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelson Juno, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Otis-Bison and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Minneapolis, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Minneapolis took their win against Otis-Bison in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 48-24. Will Minneapolis repeat their success, or does Otis-Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
