Softball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. El Camino Wildcats

The Coronado Islanders will square off against the El Camino Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Coronado had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Ramona by a score of 2-1.

Sammy Aldworth was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, everything went El Camino's way against Academy of Our Lady of Peace on Saturday as El Camino made off with a 9-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Kaylani Feliciano-Taele was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bianca Rocha, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

El Camino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Academy of Our Lady of Peace only posted an OBP of .286.

Coronado came up short against El Camino in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 7-3. Can Coronado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
