It was a proper cat-fight when Fruita Monument challenged Grand Junction on Thursday. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Fruita Monument had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.

Cambelle Brammer paced Fruita Monument's offense, picking up 14 kills. Brammer got some help from Parker Clarke and her 39 assists. Hannah Kiser controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Norah Gruwell and Haleigh Blaylock certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Gruwell had 16 digs and three assists, while Blaylock had 11 digs and ten assists. Gruwell is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Fruita Monument is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Grand Junction, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Fruita Monument will host Montrose at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Junction, they will take on Moffat County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
