Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Falls Short of University School of Jackson in the Playoffs

Harding Academy and University School of Jackson squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Harding Academy had to settle for second. They took a 42-28 bruising from the University School of Jackson Bruins. The Lions have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Harding Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bella Rose Austin went 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points and five boards.

Harding Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for University School of Jackson, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Coming up, Harding Academy will take on Christian Academy of Knoxville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Maddie Braden and Austin. University School of Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
