Volleyball Recap: Tracy Wins Going Away Against Lodi

Tracy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Lodi on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Flames with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Flames back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The win didn't come easy: Lodi scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 28-26.

Tracy found their leader in sophomore Ethan Juran, who had 21 digs and one assist. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Juran. Brandon Garcia also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Lodi's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erik De La Torre-Arias, who had nine digs.

Tracy's record is now 4-5. As for Lodi, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tracy will square off against St. Mary's at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lodi, they will face off against West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Flames surely won't give up without a fight.
