Soccer Game Preview: Gallup vs. Taos

The Gallup Bengals will venture away from home to challenge the Taos Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Gallup's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Gallup fell victim to Bloomfield and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that Gallup have lost by exactly ten goals.

Meanwhile, Taos' game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand Alamosa a 1-0 shutout. Given Taos' advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 21st in New Mexico, while Alamosa are ranked 200th in Colorado) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taos' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Gallup, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
