Basketball Game Preview: North Vermillion Falcons vs. South Vermillion Wildcats

North Vermillion is 2-8 against South Vermillion since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The North Vermillion Falcons will host the South Vermillion Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, North Vermillion came up short against North Montgomery and fell 48-39. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Chargin' Chargers are ranked 378th).

Meanwhile, South Vermillion suffered their closest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Shakamak by a score of 52-49. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Vermillion will need focus on slowing down Aden Wallace, one of several South Vermillion players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 22 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dominic Garzolini, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

South Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for North Vermillion, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.
