Basketball Recap: Green Hope Falls Despite Big Games from Shawn Sisk and Bella Cook

Green Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 55-45 to the Apex Friendship Patriots. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February.

Despite the loss, Green Hope had strong showings from Bella Cook, who went 7 for 8 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds, and Shawn Sisk, who posted 11 points. Cook is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Brown, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

It was another big night for Jasmine Nivar, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds for Apex Friendship. That makes it five consecutive games in which Nivar has scored at least a third of Apex Friendship's points. Jordan Rooney was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Green Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Apex Friendship, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Green Hope Falcons face off against the Western Harnett Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on December 26th. Green Hope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Apex Friendship, they will be taking part in a tournament against Seventy-First at 11:30 a.m. on December 26th.
