Baseball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Richmond Heights Spartans

The Harding Skippers will face off against the Richmond Heights Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harding is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Harding fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Badger on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 10-9.

Peyton Kallay stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Slavkovsky, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Richmond Heights lost 22-11 to John Hay on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with John Hay: they've now lost three in a row.

Richmond Heights got a massive performance out of JaVon Wells, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ellis Phillips, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.

Richmond Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
